Memorial services for Jimmy Lee Rogers, age 69 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2015 at First Baptist Church Sulphur Springs – Spence Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Jimmy passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 4, 1945, the son of Elbert Estes and Alice Elizabeth (Elliott) Rogers in Sulphur Springs. He served in the U.S. Army where he received a Purple Heart and several other medals.
He married Carolyn Fouse on October 2, 1970 in Sulphur Springs. She preceded him in death in 2012.
Survivors include his son, Michael Rogers of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Christine Harris of Sulphur Springs; brother, William Rogers of Dike; granddaughters, Hannah Skaggs of Sulphur Springs and Mikala Rogers of Sulphur Springs.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Alice Prock.
