An upper level low over North Texas is aiding in the development of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall at times. Some locations this morning have already received 2-4 inches Of rain and it is expected to continue raining in the watch area through the morning hours and into the early afternoon. Not everyone will receive heavy rainfall but where heavy rain does occur…flash flood will be possible
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a flash flood watch until 4 p.m. today for portions of North Central Texas and Northeast Texas, including Collin, Fannin, Grayson and Hunt, Delta, Hopkins and Lamar. Until 4pm CST this Afternoon. Street flooding, creek, stream and river flooding will be possible.
A flash flood watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding. Avoid flooded areas and do not drive into flooded streets.
