SSISD Held Second Budget Work Session Monday Night
The Sulphur Springs School Board had their second budget work session Monday night (July 21). Superintendent Mike Lamb said work on the budget had been going on for weeks. He added it was going well at this point. The latest draft budget uses preliminary taxable property values and is based on 97% tax collections. It reflects just over $39,000 more revenue than expenses. The board is expected to adopt a budget at an August 25 board meeting. Earlier the board approved T-canopies for the High School Tennis Complex currently under construction. At an earlier board meeting, the board had raised objections about canvass coverings for the court that would have to be replaced fairly often.
