Brashear News 08/27/2014
School Days! School Days! Good ol’ Golden Rule Days. It has officially begun all around the county. Good luck to all of the educators, administrators, support staff, and the best students in the country. I am not prejudiced at all. Just stating the facts.
I would like to express my appreciation to several people who helped make the Clothes Drive a success last Saturday. If I miss anyone just know that I do know that you were an integral part, here goes, Sulta Manufacturing, high school students and middle school students, FUMC members, truck drivers, and all of the volunteers that came by and hung up clothes. Sorry the names are too many to list and too many to remember each and every one of them. Just know Tom and I could not have pulled this off without your help. I would like to officially thank Brashear Baptist for donating all of the clothes that they had collected. They made several people happy.
I received a call today from Lillian Murray, she is 95. She had a question about some books I recommended by Missy Buchanan. I will be getting her that information she asked for. She also mentioned the Kitchen Hotel that was on Jefferson Street. Can anyone help me out here? Have you hear of it? She said her parents used to run this establishment. She also mentioned the Houston Hotel. She has a lot of stories to tell. If you know Lillian, ask her about these places.
There are a lot of people struggling right now with serious ailments. Please take the time to just pray for healing for everyone in some fashion whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. We all could use a little prayer.
