At the last meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council, the council voted to add $66,000 to the proposed budget to address some of consultant Roger Brooks’ branding ideas. City Manager Marc Maxwell says the funds will be used for wayfinding signs to direct people from the Interstate or from hotels to downtown. Maxwell says the city is talking with TXDOT about their sign ideas now.
The need for wayfinding signs was at the top of the branding list for Sulphur Springs from consultant Roger Brooks. When Brooks visited, he would ask people in hotels where downtown Sulphur Springs was and he noted that people had no idea. The Sulphur Springs City Council added $66,000 to next fiscal year’s budget and City manager Marc Maxwell said the funds would be used for signage to get people from the Interstate or hotels to downtown.
