Graveside funeral services for Dorothy Campbell, age 89 of Sulphur Springs will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Pleasant Grove North Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Dorothy passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Peason, LA on June 6, 1925, the daughter of Abram “Abe” and Florence Stanley Beasley. She retired from the H. D. Lee Co. as a Supervisor after twenty-three years and was a member of the Sulphur Springs First Baptist Church.
She married Billy Campbell, Sr. on October 11, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Survivors include: son, Billy Campbell, Jr. of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Linda Smith and husband, Danny of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Chasity Campbell, Jason Smith and wife, Courtney, Nicole Massey and Dallas Campbell; five great-granddaughters, Jadie Massey, Reagan Massey, McKenna Smith, Alli Coleman and Mattie Coleman.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Gurlene Faye Bourque and Gertrude Burleson.
