Funeral services for John R. Pangle, age 77 of Sulphur Springs, will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Pogue officiating. Mike Sellars, Nathan Gaddis, Steve Kane, Scott Hemby, Richard Francis and Dale McMahon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Allen, Matt Allen, Billy Baker, Jonathan Pangle, Joshua Pangle and Justin Pangle. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
John passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 25, 1937 in Marshall County, NC the son of Steward W. and Ethel Viola Franks Pangle. He married Alma Wright on October 21, 1961 in Tulsa, OK. She survives.
He was a pastor, missionary and he served his Lord and Savior for over fifty years and served in the U.S. Navy.
Other survivors include: daughters, Brenda Allen and husband, Terry of Fayetteville, AR, Cindy Baker and husband, Steve of Lincoln, NE; son, Jonathan Pangle of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Jennifer Reinking, Timothy Allen, Matthew Allen, Billy Baker, Abby Baker, Jonathan Pangle, Joshua Pangle and Justin Pangle; great-grandchildren, Conner Reinking, Peyton Reinking and Milo Allen; sister, Barbara Adams of Sand Springs, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Antha Ruth Willey.
