CPA Deborah Whitley with BKD CPA’s and Advisers of Waco had lots of praise to present along with a 2014 Financial Audit at a meeting of the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Board Thursday night. Despite suspicions of an unsuccessful year, the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital netted a clean bill of health by the auditing firm and had a much more successful year than the year before. Ms. Whitley noted hospital cash flow went from a decrease of $3.3-million in 2013 to an increase of $2.9-million last year, a more than $6-million swing. She said the hospital was extremely more profitable than their peers and she praised the board and hospital management for making good decisions.
The board also approved an affiliation agreement with UT Health Northeast for a Family Practice Residency Program at a meeting Thursday night. The vote was unanimous.
During executive session, the board discussed progress of a partnership agreement, CEO Michael McAndrew expects the board to make a decision on the matter within the next 30 days.
