Open tryouts for the Paris Junior College both men’s and women’s soccer teams will be held at Noyes Stadium on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.
Tryouts for men will take place at noon, and tryouts for women will begin at 2 p.m. each day.
“There are a low number of returning players,” said PJC Soccer Coach John Cossaboon. “We are building new teams and there are lots of opportunities at PJC for both men and women to play soccer. “
Cossaboon said they are rebuilding the program and there are scholarships and playing opportunities available for incoming freshmen.
“We want to get the word out so as many quality players as possible have an opportunity to try out for our team,” he said. Both teams compete in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Those wishing to tryout for the Dragon soccer team need to be high school graduates and anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their guardian, who must fill out the appropriate paperwork in order for them to participate.
Candidates should arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork, and must have shin guards. For further information about the tryouts call Coach Cossaboon at 903-782-0398.
