Funeral services for Jonathan Trahern Young, age 26, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at Shannon Oaks Church with Rev. Eric Godwin, Rev. Jeff Harris, and Rev. Israel Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Bill Hood, Jeffrey Pitts, Eric Sims, Daymon Nash, Adrian Pruitt, DaMarcus Johnson, and James Taylor serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation.
Jonathan passed away Monday, June 8, 2015. He was born on August 3, 1988 in Sulphur Springs the son of Zina Thompson Young and Jerry Young. Jonathan was a 2007 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and a member of Shannon Oaks Church. In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Sylvania Young of Louisiana, five brothers, Jarrod Thompson of McKinney, Brandon Searcy of Abilene, Christopher Young of Sulphur Springs, Marcus Young of Sulphur Springs and Steven Young of Tyler. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Brodie and Callie Young of Sulphur Springs, two step sisters, Michelle Hall of Sulphur Springs and Rachel Garst of Missouri. His special friend, Stacy Hearn of Sulphur Springs. Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Barbara Thompson.
