The Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce has mailed out letters to last year’s record number of stew cooks encouraging them to renew their stew sites for this year’s 46th annual contest on Saturday, October 24. Some cooks have already turned in their paperwork. Stew cooks have until September 18 to renew their sites. Those not renewed in time will be available to anyone on Monday, September 21 at 8 a.m. More than 150 cooks competed last year.
For those who can’t wait for the mail, forms along with rules and regulations are available on the stew contest’s Facebook page. The Stew Contest T-Shirt Design Contest is also back. Designs must be submitted by September 18.
