Funeral Mass of Christian burial for Jose ”Cate” Cuauhtémoc Tapia, age 16 of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Sardinas officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery with Roberto Tapia, Angel Tapia, Antonio Gonzales, Gregorio Tapia, Luciano Gonzales and Laramie Massey serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Jose passed away Friday September 11, 2015 in Hopkins County, TX.
Jose was born July 4, 1999 in San Miguel Allende GTO, Mexico, the son of Gregorio Tapia and Remedios Tapia Gonzales. He was a Junior High student at North Hopkins High School.
In addition to his parents he is survived by paternal grandparents Guillermo Tapia, Josephina Tapia, maternal Grandmother Marta Zapatero, brothers Jose Eduardo Tapia, Gregorio Tapia, Jose Julio Paz Tapia, Kevin Tapia, nephew Brandon Eduardo Tapia, niece Leah Michelle Tapia and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather Luciano Gonzales.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
