Funeral services for Billie Edwards, age 84 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Friday officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with James Edwards, Jimmy Horton, Corey Horton, Jerry Horton, Kenneth Price and Heath Horton. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Billie passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Greenhill Villas of Mt. Pleasant. She was born on September 8, 1931 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Lewis Mike and Mattie Lavelle (Scott) Smith. She was a retired meter maid for the Sulphur Springs Police Department and was a member of the Weaver Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Massengill and husband, Troy of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Shanna Baxley and husband, Sonny of Sulphur Springs and two great-grandchildren, Shawna Baxley and Johnny Baxley.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Olvin Eugene Edwards and brother, Lewis Ray Smith.
