Dr. Ray Perryman to speak at Economic Outlook Conference, December 9th from 11:30-1:00pm
Dr. Perryman is back and has A LOT to tell us. He will discuss not only the economic outlook for Hopkins County and surrounding areas, but he will also touch on Obamacare and changes to insurance in 2016. Get your tickets now to hear noted economist, Dr. Ray Perryman on Wednesday, December 9th at the Hopkins County Civic Center. Attention All Chamber Members….Membership Directories are being prepared NOW!!!
Chamber Members, we are going to print a little earlier than normal for the 2016 Membership Directory. We are going to have it ready for distribution the first part of January, so we need you to do a few things…
- Please go to www.sulphursprings-tx.com and click on the membership directory. Please check to make sure that we have the correct information for your business. We have been trying to check and recheck it but I’m sure we have made some errors, but we want to fix them.
- If your membership investment is past due, payment arrangements need to be made prior to
December 9th.

Lucy Lockets Pockets
Thank you to everyone who attended the ribbon cutting for Lucy Lockets Pockets, located at 405 Gilmer Street, Mary & Ronnie Day would love for you to stop by and check out their quaint little boutique! They have clothing, scarves, jewelry, crafty items, ornaments, plus tons more!
Redneck Bar and Grill
What a great grand opening and ribbon cutting we had for Redneck Bar & Grill! Guests were introduced to the absolutely BEAUTIFUL newest fine dining restaurant in Sulphur Springs. If you haven’t been in there, you need to check it out. They offer a daily lunch special which includes 2 sides, tea or water for $9. In the evenings, they offer a wide variety of steaks. They currently have Prime Rib on Friday nights and they are also currently offering quail and a 20oz Porterhouse as well. This place is not the same as Redneck Roadhouse…it may have the same name, but it is a totally different environment, menu and attitude. They are open Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 11-2 and 5-8:30ish. Friday and Saturday, they are open from 11:00am-9:30ish. They are located at 211 Main Street. Charmin Chic Boutique Ribbon cutting
Charmin Chic Boutique is a unique little gift shop located on our beautiful Main Street Downtown Sulphur Springs. It has a rustic bath and body feel, except with wine! They carry wonderful all natural handmade products as gifts or to pamper yourself. They have unique and fun wines, along with candles, soap, lotion and bath salts. Intentional Illumination Candles and Ladybug Blessings are two of their wonderful product lines. They even have a little Wine Ice Cream! All occasion gift baskets are always favorite. If they are not open and you need a gift, just give them a call and they will take care of you! It’s all about relaxation and pampering! They are located at 211 ½ Main Street. Hopkins County Jail
The new Hopkins County Law Enforcement Center had a wonderful grand opening and ribbon cutting. Guests were treated to a tour of the facility, delicious food and cake. Over 500 visitors made their way through the jail. Judge Robert Newsom welcomed everyone then introduced the Sheriff, County Commissioners, other local dignitaries as well as the construction company representatives that made the jail happen! It was a wonderful event and we are so fortunate to have this wonderful new facility!
Lights of Life Tree Lighting, December 3rd at 6:00pm

Santa will arrive in time to help us light the Lights of Life Christmas tree
& the Volunteer Auxiliary will serve hot chocolate and cookies.
CASA Cookie Walk, December 4th from 9am-Noon at FUMC Family Life Center
Please stop by the Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church, Friday, December 4th between 9:00am and Noon for a Room full of Cookies! Cookies are $5/pound and all of the proceeds benefit our local CASA program.
Christmas in the Park, Friday, December 4th & Saturday, December 5th from 5:30-8:30pm
Each year they open the Historical Park to visitors of Christmas in the Park. The event begins at sunset and lasts for three hours. While in the park, visitors can enjoy a spectacle of lights, strolling carolers, musicians, a live nativity scene and Santa Clause. Free hot cocoa, coffee, punch, cookies and other goodies are served in various building on the grounds. Most of the historic buildings are open, with volunteers dressed in period costumes to help give the feeling of stepping into the past. The festival will run from 5:30-8:30. The $3 admission ticket is eligible for one of the many door prizes to be given away, compliments of local business owners. Come and step back in time to enjoy the start of the Christmas season.
Lion’s Club Electric Lights Parade and Christmas on the Square, Friday, December 4th
Line the streets of Connally and around the Square for the beautiful electric lights parade. If you are interested in entering the parade, stop by the Chamber office for the rules and entry form!
Along with the parade will be Tree Lighting, Snow Slide, White Tigers, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and Vendors All beginning at 5:30 The parade will begin at 7:00pm
Christmas Lights Contest presented by The Sulphur Springs Downtown Business Alliance
The Downtown Business Alliance will host a Christmas lights Contest for the residents & businesses in the Sulphur Springs Downtown Historic District. They will have 2 contests: one for residents and one for businesses. 1st Place-$500, 2nd Place-$200, 3rd Place-$50. Judging will take place on December 11th & 12th. Participants’ lights must be on from 5:30-10pm. Displays will be judged on: 1) use of lights 2) creativity and 3)Theme or Scene Used. Winners will be announced Saturday, December 19th. Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Tin Roots, Monday, December 7th at 5:00pm

Business After Hours & Ribbon Cutting for Express Care, Thursday, December 10th from 5:30-6:30
We are so excited to invite you to the Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting for the new urgent care facility on the southside of town in the old Radio Shack Building, 1139 S. Broadway-Express Care! We will host their ribbon cutting at 5:30 and there will be lots of food and beverages. We hope to see you there!
