Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Boyd, age 89 of Yantis, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Byron George and Rev. Craig Vance officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the masons of the Yantis Masonic Lodge. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jean passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2016 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home. She was born on March 31, 1926 in Clanton, Alabama, the daughter of Isaac Lee and Madolyn Delene (Robinson) Bice. She married Marvin Calvin Boyd on December 15, 1944 in Dallas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church – Yantis.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Tiffany Maynard and husband, B. J. of Sulphur Springs and Crystal Boyd of Justin and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lexi and Gage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Dwayne Boyd; sister, Ann Joyce and twin sister, Mary Michael.
