A Masonic graveside service for Donald Dickey Turner, of Lone Oak, was held Saturday morning, April 29, 2017, in Smyrna Cemetery. Mr. Turner passed away Wednesday, April 26, at Legend Health and Rehabilitation in Greenville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1932 in Dallas, to James Truman and Annie Lores DickeyTurner. He married Mary Amanda Tarkington April 4, 1959 in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Army in his younger years. During his working career he worked for Safeway Foods as an inventory control manager. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include:
Daughters: Donni Dee Hall (Gregg) of Emory; and, Catrina Lee Whitmire (Keith) of Dallas
Son: Lawrence Turner (Vicky) of Lone Oak
Grandchildren: Joshua York, Andrew York, Alex Turner, Conner Whitmire, and Jack Turner
Preceded in death by: Parents, Wife in 2015, and Sister, Patsy Ervin
Services under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
