National Nursing Home Week Unites Residents, Staff  and Volunteers at Carriage House Manor

Local skilled nursing center demonstrates “Spirit of America” during events for annual observance

Sulphur Springs, TX – Carriage House Manor will host daily events as part of National Nursing Home Week (NNHW), which runs from May 14 to 20. This year’s national observance’s theme, “The Spirit of America”, highlights the bond among staff, volunteers and residents that captures the American spirit. The week’s events at Carriage House Manor will serve to encourage acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion in the center, and recognize those who have helped residents enjoy a better quality of life.

“We are grateful that so many individuals in our community are coming together to celebrate the work we do,” said Sharla Campbell, Assistant Administrator of Carriage House Manor. “This year, we are using the power of relationships, food, entertainment and music, which captures the unique spirit of Carriage House Manor.” Established by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) in 1967, NNHW provides an opportunity for residents and their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and surrounding communities to acknowledge the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Activities this week at Carriage House Manor include:

  • Karaoke Night, May 15, 7:00 PM – A fun kick-off of our Music & Memory pilot program
  • Ice Cream Sundae Social, May 16, 2:00 PM
  • SSISD Choir, May 17, 9:30 AM
