Incumbent Hopkins County District Clerk Cheryl Fulcher, a Republican, announced Thursday that she will be seeking re-election. She said it has been an honor and a humbling experience to serve the citizens of the county and the courts of our judicial system. Ms. Fulcher notes that one of her first acts was to move the office and records of our courts to a new location. She praised her staff for meeting the challenge. At the same time, the Texas Supreme Court had set in motion the electronic filing of court documents for Hopkins County to be permissive on the Texas Courts E-file system. Once again Ms. Fulcher gives credit to her staff, our local attorneys and the and judges in Hopkins County.
The District Clerk’s Office is also now in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling to be paperless in Civil and Family Law cases. Ms. Fulcher was first elected district clerk in 2015.
