Funeral services for Melvin Williams, age 60, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church, Wilton Mac Morris, Pastor and Dr. Harold B. Nash, officiating. Interment will follow at East Caney Cemetery with Terry Mosely, T.P. Person, Marcus Hood, Joe Dan Dial, Kelvin Debase, and Tony Taylor serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Williams passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX.
He was born in Kansas City Missouri, the son of O.D. and Jessie Williams. Mr. Williams graduated Sulphur Springs High School Class of 1976 and retired from Wingo Feed Mill.
He is survived by daughter, MeRita Kennedy of Pittsburgh, TX, sisters, Tonya Williams, Shirley Williams, Sharon Palmer, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Deborah Edward of Sulphur Springs, TX. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Reginald, Michael, and O.D. Williams Jr., and sister, Willie “Mae” Williams.
