Wood County Sheriff’s Report January 17-23, 2018
January 17th
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 12:34 a.m. Kevin Wood, 30, of Grand Saline, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Shana Earle, 26, of Yantis, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Tamper/Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
At 10:30 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:53 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 3800 near Hawkins. Advice was given to the reporting party.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 7:21 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate any individuals or signs of burglary.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1445 near Quitman, at approximately 9:21 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
January 18th
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2377 near Alba, at approximately 3:14 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 7:55 a.m. Andrew Moore, 35, of Mineola, was arrested for Public Intoxication.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 9:01 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s shop. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched the CR 2275 near Mineola, at approximately 9:14 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
At 10:57 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1971 near Yantis.
Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Mineola, at approximately 11:42 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole hay bales from the reporting party’s property.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2260 near Mineola, at approximately 2:06 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
At 4:02 p.m., horses were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Bermuda St. in Quitman; at approximately 4:13 p.m. Curtis Dowdle, 27, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2230 near Mineola, at approximately 8:01 p.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole medication from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 182 near Alba, at approximately 10:11 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
January 19th
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 2:37 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4798 near Winnsboro; at approximately 8:07 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2263 near Mineola; at approximately 8:56 a.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3400 near Winnsboro; at approximately 9:01 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Hart St. in Quitman; at approximately 9:32 a.m. Shaquan Bell, 23, of Quitman, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Patten St. in Mineola; at approximately 9:54 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Pacific St. in Mineola; at approximately 10:46 a.m. Kenneth Barnes, 44, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Deputies were dispatched to CR2275 near Mineola, at approximately 11:00 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1560 near Alba; at approximately 1:05 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3950 near Mineola, at approximately 1:39 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole tools out of the reporting party’s shed. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1448 near Quitman, at approximately 1:52 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:34 p.m., in reference to fraud that occurred on West Oak in Yantis. Actors, or actors unknown, used the reporting party’s credit/debit cards without authorization. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1560 near Alba; at approximately 6:48 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 1903 near Yantis; at approximately 7:18 p.m. Samuel Threadgill, 37, of Alba, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 8:56 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
Deputies were dispatched to PR 7533 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:23 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Joshua Pigott, 37, of Grand Praire, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence, and Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family/Household Member by Impeding Breathing/Air Circulation with Previous Conviction.
Deputies were dispatched to Sells St. in Yantis, at approximately 11:16 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Dakota Ogle, 18, of Yantis, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2168 near Quitman, at approximately 11:22 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
January 20th
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 182 near Alba; at approximately 6:47 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to Coke Rd. in Winnsboro, at approximately 10:02 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 41, died in the hospital. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2135 near Quitman, at approximately 11:12 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village Clubhouse, at approximately 11:28 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies located the parties involved and cleared the scene.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:42 a.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on CR 4200 near Winnsboro. Advice was given to the reporting party.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:51 a.m., in reference to theft that occurred on PR 5883 near Yantis. A known actor stole the reporting party’s boat; however, it was later recovered.
At 2:07 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 3860 near Hawkins.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 1804 near Mineola, at approximately 3:01 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Joseph McDowell, 31, of Mineola, was arrested for outstanding warrants and Burglary of Habitation Intend Other Felony.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 3:57 p.m., in reference to theft that occurred on HWY 69 near Alba. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a firearm from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4568 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:21 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 8:36 p.m. Teddy Oneal, 58, of Quitman, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated Third or More.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2168 near Quitman, at approximately 8:40 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the individuals and advised them to lower the volume of their music.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2840 near Mineola, at approximately 9:32 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2550 near Mineola, at approximately 11:56 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
January 21st
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2840 near Mineola, at approximately 12:24 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 1:13 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.
At 9:41 a.m., horses were reported out on Orchard St. in Alba.
At 10:43 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4660 near Winnsboro, at approximately 12:14 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 76, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2195 near Quitman, at approximately 3:27 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
At 3:46 p.m., horses were reported out on HWY 154 near Quitman.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4700 near Winnsboro, at approximately 4:29 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Donald Delane, 55, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Aggravated Assault.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1460 near Quitman, at approximately 7:10 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4870 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:22 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 77, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered. This case has been forwarded to other agency.
January 22nd
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 8:58 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Alba, at approximately 10:22 a.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Yantis, at approximately 10:42 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole cell phones from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4815 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:21 a.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a generator welder from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to PR 7536 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:18 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
January 23rd
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1416 near Quitman, at approximately 12:08 a.m., in reference to 911 abuse. Ernest Brown, 60, of Quitman, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Silent Abusive Call/Electronic Communication to 911 Services.
Deputies were dispatched to Cheyenne near Quitman, at approximately 6:49 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:42 a.m., in reference to an incident that occurred on CR 2290 near Mineola. A known actor took the reporting party’s tractor and has not returned it.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1513 near Alba, at approximately 1:56 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.
Deputies spoke to the reporting party, at approximately 2:03 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on CR 1600 near Alba. Actors, or actors unknown, stole cast-iron hay rings from the reporting party’s property.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Patten St. in Mineola; at approximately 4:38 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1952 near Yantis, at approximately 5:35 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Upon the deputies’ arrival, the home owners were on scene and the building was secure.
At 6:10 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966/CR 1350 near Quitman.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:52 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
Between the dates of January 17 and January 23, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Police Departments, Emergency Medical Services and Child Protective Services.
Between the dates of January 17 and January 23, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators filed 3 cases with the District Attorney, obtained 2 arrest warrants and arrested the individuals, and recovered $750 worth of stolen property.
Total Jail Count – 146 inmates – 122 males and 24 females.
