Wednesday, May 23, 2018, Hopkins County Emergency Planning and the County Fire Department will host a Local Emergency Planning event conducted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the U. S. Department of Homeland Security, the U. S. Department of Labor/OSHA, and U. S. EPA Region 6. The event will take place at the Hopkins County Civic Center, 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Representatives from counties,cities, and municipal entities in the Northeast Texas/Ark-Tex Council of Governments region will be present to update information on emergency planning. The vent will feature various speakers and workshops.
According to Andy Endsley, the last time the county hosted this event, over 100 individuals participated.
