July 18th
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook point; at approximately 1:51 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 2:29 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 7:52 a.m. The vehicle was towed by Joes Wrecker and the incident was cleared.
Deputies were dispatched o CR 2140 near Mineola, at approximately 9:57 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Deputies determined the damage was causes by dogs and the incident was cleared.
Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 778 near Hawkins; at approximately 3:45 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
At 7:02 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 8:25 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
At 8:43 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4255 near Winnsboro.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 1254 near Mineola; at approximately 8:52 p.m. Bessie Webb, 44, of Mineola, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While License Invalid and Possession of Marijuana.
July 19th
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 779 near Mineola; at approximately 12:27 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 2966 near Yantis; at approximately 12:54 a.m. Melissa Salazar, 33, of Mineola, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:06 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on CR 1947 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3909 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:01 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
At 12:57 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4250 near Winnsboro.
At 1:27 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4250 near Winnsboro.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4230 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:59 p.m., in reference to theft of a vehicle. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a vehicle from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2980 near Alba, at approximately 3:47 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a firearm from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
At 7:34 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
Deputies were dispatched to Firelight Lane, at approximately 7:49 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to Holiday Village near Quitman, at approximately 9:16 p.m., in reference to deadly conduct. A known actor pulled out a gun during a dispute and left the scene. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:10 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
July 20th
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 3227 near Quitman; at approximately 7:14 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 7:27 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3847 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:45 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Daniel Phillips, 41, of Hawkins, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2100 near Quitman, at approximately 8:33 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
At 9:09 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1695 near Alba, at approximately 12:05 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 2422 near Mineola, at approximately 5:15 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies spoke with the owner of the building and it was secure.
Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 6:13 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
At 9:10 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop that ended on FM 2015 in Smith County; at approximately 9:58 p.m. Daveon Garrett, 24, of Hawkins, was arrested for No Drivers License, Open Container and Illegal Dumping.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4470 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:25 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a TV and an Xbox from the reporting party’s residence. Deputies were advised the reporting party only wanted it in the records.
July 21st
At 7:48 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
At 8:07 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1416 near Quitman.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:28 a.m., in reference to theft that occurred within the city limits of Alba. This case has been forwarded to other agency.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3990 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:33 a.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1977 near Yantis, at approximately 12:22 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4940 near Quitman, at approximately 4:01 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
At 8:22 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.
At 10:50 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1900 near Yantis.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman, at approximately 10:59 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies gave the individual a courtesy transport and cleared the incident.
July 22nd
Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 4649 near Winnsboro; at approximately 5:04 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
At 7:26 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 2332 near Mineola; at approximately 1:23 p.m. Jackie Britton, 52, of Harleton, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:28 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on FM 1643 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 5:00 p.m., in reference to criminal mischief that occurred on CR 1429 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
At 6:09 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2230 near Mineola.
At 6:17 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.
At 7:37 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.
July 23rd
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 12:02 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman, at approximately 12:08 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 80 near Hawkins; at approximately 12:22 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
At 5:58 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.
At 7:16 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Winnsboro.
At 9:07 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1416 near Quitman.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 3494 near Hawkins, at approximately 12:30 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4470 near Winnsboro, at approximately 1:08 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 83, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.
At 5:21 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Winnsboro.
Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 near Quitman, at approximately 6:38 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Jenifer Nichols, 30, of Quitman, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 4450 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:58 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
At 7:08 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.
Deputies were dispatched to Lake Holbrook boat ramp, at approximately 7:16 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 7:18 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass on CR 1540 near Alba. Deputies advised the reporting party that extra patrol would be provided.
At 8:02 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.
At 9:12 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1570 near Alba.
Deputies were dispatched to Seminole near Quitman, at approximately 10:07 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
July 24th
At 12:34 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 2088 near Winnsboro.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4890 near Winnsboro; at approximately 2:08 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 4847 near Winnsboro; at approximately 2:34 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to Firelight Lane near Hawkins, at approximately 7:32 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
At 8:12 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4940 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2298 near Mineola, at approximately 7:06 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2311 near Mineola, at approximately 7:40 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 1422 near Quitman, at approximately 8:34 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
At 8:36 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4255 near Winnsboro.
Deputies spoke with the reporting party, in reference to a criminal trespass on Holly Hill Circle near Hawkins; at approximately 8:37 p.m. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.
Deputies were dispatched to CR 2540 near Mineola, at approximately 9:14 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Tabitha Crow, 27, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault.
Between the dates of July 18 and July 24, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included Police Departments, Emergency Medical Services and Department of Public Safety.
Between the dates of July 18 and July 24, Wood County Sheriff’s Investigators filed 1 case with the District Attorney, obtained 1 arrest warrant and arrested the individual.
Total Jail Count – 124 inmates – 99 males and 25 females.
