The #10 ranked Wildcats’ baseball team opened the regular season with a win and a loss at Mike Carter Field in Tyler at the Rose City Classic.
The Wildcats got solid pitching and enough base hits to plate a couple runs as they defeated tournament host Tyler lee, 2-0.
Then the Wildcats, playing back to back games, lost to Lindale, 3-1.
The Wildcats, 1-1 for the season, have one game on the tournament schedule for Friday as they play Amarillo at 4 p.m. The Wildcats conclude tournament play with a pair of games scheduled Saturday. The Wildcats back to back scheduled games are against Waxahachie at 10 a.m. and versus Forney at noon.
