SSHS Math and Science Teams Finish Second at North Lamar Meet
Math and Science teams that are part of the Wildcats UIL Academic squad, recently (March 2) finished second at the North Lamar Math and Science Meet. The competitors compete with others in their grade.
In Number Sense, sophomore Kendall Little was first, junior Bracken Sant was fourth and junior Andrew Westlund was fifth. The Number Sense Team of Little, Sant, Westlund and junior Isaac Gutierrez was the second place team.
In Calculator, Little was second, Gutierrez was first, junior Kennedy Lee was sixth and senior Peyton Baugh was first. The Calculator Team of Gutierrez, Baugh, Little and Lee took first place.
In Mathematics, Little took first among sophomores, Westlund was second in juniors, Sant was third among juniors, Ivory Liu was fifth in juniors, Baugh was second among seniors. Mathematics Team of Little, Baugh, Westlund and Sant took First Place Team. Gerald Grafton coaches Number Sense, Calculator and Mathematics.
In Science, freshman Dylane Flies was second, sophomore Matthew Harper was fourth, Little was sixth among sophomores, Sant was sixth among juniors, Baugh took fourth among seniors. The Science Team of Baugh, Harper, Little and Sant were a fourth place team. The Science Team is coached by Steven Allemang.
