4 Taken Into Custody on Felony Hopkins County Warrants

Three men and a woman were taken into custody by sheriff’s officers on felony warrants Friday, including one man located at the courthouse, two held in jail in other counties and one found at a residence, according to arrest reports.

Rodrick Baker

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Transport Deputy Jason Poteet traveled to Bowie County Detention Center, where Rodrick Baker was being held on a Hopkins County warrant for violation of probation, which he was on for possession of 4 grams or more but less than 400 grams of a Penalty Group 2 controlled substance. Poteet took custody of the 40-year-old Texarkana man at 8 a.m. and transported him to Hopkins County jail on the felony warrant. Baker, also known by Roderick Earl Baker and alias Chris Jones, remained in Hopkins County jail Saturday morning on the charge, according to jail reports.

Toni Leann Cupp

Poteet also made a stop at Mount Vernon Sheriff’s Office, where Toni Leann Cupp was being held on a Hopkins County warrant for violation of probation, which she was on for possession of 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance. He took custody of the 44-year-old Mount Vernon woman at 9:45 a.m. July 26, transported her to Hopkins County jail, where she remained Saturday morning, according to arrest and jail reports.

Willie Marvin Riley III

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Brantley, and Investigators Dennis Findley and Wade Sheets located Willie Marvin Riley III at his Mockingbird Lane residence at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, and served him with a warrant for assault of a family or household member that impeded breathing or circulation. The offense is alleged to have occurred on Sept. 19, according to arrest reports.

He also was later found have an outstanding failure to display driver’s license charge. He remained in the county jail Saturday morning. Bond on the assault charge was set at $20,000, according to jail reports.

Colton Don Brantley

Colton Don Jackson was taken into custody by Officer M. Jackson at 11 a.m. at Hopkins County District Courthouse for bond revocation on an aggravated assault of a date, family or household member with a weapon. The offense is alleged to have occurred on Dec. 16, according to arrest reports. He was still being held in the county jail Saturday morning on the charge, according to jail reports.
