Wood County Sheriff’s Report For Nov. 13-19, 2019
November 13
- Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Alba, at approximately 7:36 a.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole several lottery tickets from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- At 12:31 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2128 near Quitman.
- Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Quitman, at approximately 1:45 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole the reporting party’s mail. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- At 3:22 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Hawkins.
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 6:54 p.m. Brian Bishop, 64, of Quitman, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Cheyenne near Quitman; at approximately 8:54 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
- At 10:22 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 37 near Quitman; at approximately 11:26 p.m. Tyler Wright, 27, of Quitman, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
November 14
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 4586 near Winnsboro; at approximately 1:07 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1475 near Quitman; at approximately 2:32 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3940 near Mineola, at approximately 9:13 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:48 p.m., in reference to fraud on FM 312 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- At 3:12 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1300 near Yantis.
- Deputies were dispatched to SPUR 514 near Yantis, at approximately 4:13 p.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 67, was found deceased at his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:47 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 9:04 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
November 15
- At 8:56 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 778 near Quitman; at approximately 10:19 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:29 a.m., in reference to harassment on CR 1297 near Yantis. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 4506 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:32 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3836 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:52 p.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle in the roadway. Wyatt’s Towing towed the vehicle and the incident was cleared.
- Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:30 p.m., in reference to a burglary. A known actor stole a firearm from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1681 near Alba, at approximately 7:50 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 14 near Hawkins; at approximately 8:30 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to CR 1475 near Quitman; at approximately 9:17 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Plum St. in Winnsboro; at approximately 9:40 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 4918 near Quitman, at approximately 10:25 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
November 16
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1297 near Yantis, at approximately 12:31 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and cleared the incident.
- Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Pacific St. in Mineola; at approximately 1:03 a.m. Joshua Weger, 34, of Powderly, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Tampering Fabricate Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair. Amanda McCann, 39, of Paris, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3204 near Quitman, at approximately 4:19 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 182 near Quitman; at approximately 5:35 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- At 9:21 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Yantis.
- Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 11:46 a.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- At 1:01 p.m., horses were reported out on FM 17 near Alba.
- Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 2:41 p.m. Kalpesh Patel, 42, of Mineola, was arrested for No Drivers License While Unlicensed.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 779 near Alba; at approximately 4:07 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 4:55 p.m., in reference to harassment on CR 1990 near Yantis. Deputies made contact with all parties involved and cleared the incident.
- Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Winnsboro St. in Quitman; at approximately 7:07 p.m. Myressa Cribbs, 25, of Winnsboro, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3955 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:44 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 288 near Quitman; at approximately 10:49 p.m. Deputies located the individual and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 4460 near Winnsboro, at approximately 11:28 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies located the activity and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 11:47 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
November 17
- Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 4750 near Winnsboro; at approximately 3:58 a.m. Jordan Thornton, 20, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with Open Alcoholic Container.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:50 a.m., in reference to harassment on FM 515 near Yantis. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Beaulah St. in Hawkins; at approximately 1:49 p.m. Patrick Robinson, 33, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1726 near Yantis, at approximately 1:50 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1975 near Yantis, at approximately 4:40 p.m., in reference to theft. Deputies made contact with the individuals and cleared the incident.
- At 5:19 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 2280 near Mineola, at approximately 6:07 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 779 near Alba; at approximately 6:18 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to FM 515 near Alba, at approximately 6:29 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 9:24 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.
- Deputies conducted a traffic stop on HWY 37 near Mineola; at approximately 10:12 p.m. Robert LaPlante, 26, of Alba, was arrested for Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
November 18
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 2330 near Mineola, at approximately 5:16 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.
- At 8:54 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Quitman.
- Deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:18 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A female, 76, was found deceased in her residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:38 a.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2444 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1900 near Yantis, at approximately 1:44 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.
- Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 4;15 p.m., in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. Actors, or actors unknown, stole 2 guitars from the reporting party’s vehicle. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
- Deputies spoke to the reporting party, at approximately 5:37 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2246 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 2169 near Quitman, at approximately 10:19 p.m., in reference to an animal complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the owner of the dogs.
November 19
- At 12:58 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 14 near Hawkins; at approximately 1:19 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.
- Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:23 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 3522 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:34 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 12:35 p.m., in reference to a scam on CR 2444 near Mineola. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- At 1:09 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 near Winnsboro.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1859 near Yantis, at approximately 2:18 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.
- Deputies were dispatched to CR 1960 near Yantis, at approximately 2:23 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and cleared the incident.
- Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 2:55 p.m., in reference to fraud on CR 4586 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.
- At 3:25 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 779 near Alba.
- Deputies were dispatched to FM 1647 near Winnsboro, at approximately 6:45 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individuals.
- Deputies were dispatched to PR 6645 near Mineola, at approximately 6:58 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Mason Brady, 19, of Mineola, was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 37 near Winnsboro; at approximately 7:34 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.
- Deputies responded to a suspicious person on CR 2502 near Mineola; at approximately 11:27 p.m. Deputies located the individual and cleared the incident.
