The Saltillo Lady Lions Basketball Team, ranked #11 in Class A, remained unbeaten in district play with an 80-10 victory over Bloomburg Tuesday (February 4) at Kerry Garmon Gym in Saltillo. For the Lady Lions, Anna Reeder had a big game with 24 points. Allie Lane and Julianna Giles both had 10 points. Chandler Bain scored 9 points. Maddy Smith had 8 points. Brittney Peeples added 7 points. Jocelyn Ochoa chipped in 6 points. Paisley Kastner scored 4 points. McKenna Gurley scored 2 points. Lady Lions Coach Bill Giles said he was happy with what his team did defensively also noting the team moved the ball well and played unselfishly on offensive. Coach Giles called it a good team win. The Lady Lions are 9-0 in district play and 27-7 for the season. The Lady Lions play at Sulphur Bluff Friday evening.
The Miller Grove Lady Hornets Basketball Team came out on top in a close game with Ector, 34-30 Tuesday (February 4). The Lady Hornets trailed at halftime 11-8 but used a good second half to get the win. Harli Watson led Miller Grove with 23 points. Lauren Bullard and Lainy Burnett scored 4 points apiece. Summer Coker had 3 points.
