January 15

  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2438, at approximately 12:15 a.m., regarding shots fired. The caller reported hearing several gunshots. Deputies patrolled the neighborhood, but didn’t find any suspicious activity.
  • At 11:09 a.m., deputies were forwarded a phone call regarding a theft that had occurred on Butternut Glen in Holly Lake Ranch a few months ago. Actors, or actors unknown, took property from a storage building. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to the Adult Probation Department, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Michelle Lindsey, 48, of Como, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 3803 in Hawkins, at approximately 3:52 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was okay.
  • At approximately 6:08 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 4760 regarding a dog bite. Deputies took possession of the stray dog to quarantine it for ten days.
  • Deputies were dispatched to E. Goode, at approximately 6:43 p.m., in reference to an aggressive dog. The owner was given Dangerous Dog paperwork and advised to keep the dog on his own property.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1941 in Yantis, at approximately 6:52 p.m., regarding suspicious activity. Deputies will provide extra patrol in the area.
  • Deputies were dispatched to 154/515 in Yantis, at approximately 7:25 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver speeding and tailgating other cars. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • At approximately 8:17 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 4930 in Quitman in reference to harassment. Deputies gave the complainants advice to handle the incident and cleared the incident.

January 16

  • Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 515 on the east bridge at approximately 12:34 a.m. Christy Radacy, 40, of Fort Worth, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on South 69, at approximately 2:30 a.m., when the subject began to flee. He eventually lost control of his vehicle and came to a stop. William Fishburn, 19, of Gladewater, was arrested for Evading Arrest and an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 in Mineola, at approximately 6:25 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and all appeared ok.
  • At approximately 8:02 a.m., deputies conducted a welfare check on an individual in a car in the area of 154 and FM 2225. Deputies spoke to the individual and everything was okay.
  • Cows were reported out on FM 49 and FM 14 at approximately 9:06 a.m.
  • Deputies assisted DPS by giving a courtesy ride to a driver following an accident on Highway 80E/PR 6646 at approximately 9:44 a.m.
  • While patrolling FM 182, near 4307, deputies noticed an open door at a location. There was no forced entry and the house appeared to be vacant so the door was secured and the deputy cleared the incident.
  • At approximately 11:36 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 49 and FM 14.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 between 2869 and 852, at approximately 1:43 p.m., in reference to a traffic hazard. Deputies contacted TXDOT who cleared the roadway of a downed tree.
  • At approximately 1:57 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 in Quitman, at approximately 2:15 p.m., in reference to a sexual assault of a child. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to the Adult Probation Office at approximately 4:30 p.m. Samuel Landaverde, 56, of Grand Saline, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2659 in Hawkins, at approximately 5:24 p.m., in reference to an animal complaint. The complainant reported that a loose dog had attacked his 4 goats and one of the goats had to be put down. Deputies located the person responsible for the dog who stated that it accidentally got out of the house. He was issued a citation and he advised that the dog had been re-located to another county where he also owns property.
  • At approximately 5:33 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Hawkins in reference to a suicidal subject. After deputies talked to the subject, he agreed to be transported to the hospital for evaluation.
  • Deputies were dispatched to New Hope Cemetery, at approximately 7:46 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. The caller reported seeing lights in the cemetery, but deputies searched the area, didn’t find anything unusual and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 at FM 1799, at approximately 10:23 p.m., in reference to a traffic hazard. Deputies located and removed multiple items out of the roadway.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 1799 in Golden at approximately 10:38 p.m. Jennifer Newman, 37, of Golden, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

January 17

  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to County Road 1917 at approximately 12:26 a.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.
  • Deputies located a vehicle which had run off of the road on Highway 154 in Yantis at approximately 1:24 a.m. Jayden Wallace, 28, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
  • At approximately 11:02 a.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 2117 in Quitman in reference to a disturbance. The complainant reported being assaulted by actors, or actors unknown. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1858 in Yantis, at approximately 11:42 a.m., in reference to a disturbance involving a weapon. Deputies met with both individuals involved. Roger Allen, 60, of Yantis, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Francis Ramirez, 50, of Yantis, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2275 in Mineola, at approximately 12:35 p.m., in reference to a burglary. The victim reported that actors, or actors unknown, had burglarized his storage unit, garage and vehicle. This case will be forwarded to investigators.
  • At approximately 1:35 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 312 and County Road 3190.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2430 in Mineola, at approximately 1:39 p.m., in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. The victim reported that actors, or actors unknown, had burglarized his RV. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At approximately 2:07 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 17, south of FM 779.
  • At approximately 3:33 p.m., horses were reported out on County Road 1960 near Terror Trails.
  • At approximately 4:21 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 at County Road 3130.
  • Deputies were dispatched to S.H. 154 in Yantis, at approximately 5:11 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.
  • Deputies were dispatched to S. 69 in Alba, at approximately 9:25 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, located the vehicle and issued a verbal warning to the driver.
  • While on patrol, deputies saw a parked car at a closed business at approximately 10:20 p.m. Deputies made contact with the individual in the car and all was ok.
  • At approximately 11:32 p.m., cows were reported out on 312, north of 2088.

January 18

  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 3475, at approximately 2:48 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies met with all of the involved individuals and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 80 E, at approximately 4:41 a.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies met with the involved individuals and cleared the incident.
  • At approximately 8:52 a.m., horses were reported out on County Road 3440.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Center Street in Alba, at approximately 9:44 a.m., in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the car.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 3130, at approximately 10:38 a.m., in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies contacted the owner of the vehicle who came to pick it up.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 4555, at approximately 12:00 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and all was ok.
  • At approximately 12:34 p.m., deputies assisted with a funeral escort from Quitman to Lake Fork.
  • At approximately 12:34 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 1570.
  • Cows were reported out on FM 2869/CR 4530 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 3:08 p.m. in reference to a forgery. The reporting party stated that he was given a rent check which later turned out to be counterfeit due to the account being closed. This case is being forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist on Highway 154 at approximately 3:49 p.m.
  • At approximately 4:01 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 in Yantis in reference to a burglary. The victim reported that his storage unit had been burglarized. This case will be forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies were dispatched to S.H. 154 in Quitman, at approximately 6:42 p.m., in reference to a disturbance between 2 individuals. When the deputies arrived, one of the parties had already left the scene. This case has been closed due to the victim refusing to cooperate with the investigation.
  • At approximately 7:46 p.m., deputies assisted a motorist with directions in Holly Lake Village.
  • Cows were reported out on Highway 80 West just before the county line at approximately 9:06 p.m.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2810, at approximately 9:45 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies made contact with the individuals shooting fireworks and they agreed to put them away.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Clearwater Trail in Hawkins, at approximately 10:04 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2225 in Quitman, at approximately 10:53 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies spoke with the homeowner and everything was ok.
  • At approximately 11:28 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Lake Holbrook camping area in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the incident.

January 19

  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1971 in Yantis, at approximately 3:34 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies checked the area, all of the doors and windows of the home and everything was ok.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Scenic Knoll in Hawkins, at approximately 4:40 a.m., in reference to an animal complaint of a loose dog. Deputies located the owner of the dog and the dog was secured.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 in Mineola, at approximately 5:01 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and everything was ok.
  • At approximately 5:34 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Private Road 7543 to assist the driver of an 18 wheeler get his truck turned around and off of the street.
  • At approximately 5:49 a.m., deputies assisted a motorist who was having transmission problems on Highway 154/3980.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 154 in Yantis, at approximately 8:19 a.m., in reference to an abandoned boat on a trailer. Deputies located the owner of the boat who did not realize that his boat had been stolen because he lives out of the local area. Deputies went with him to check his storage unit where he discovered multiple items missing. This case has been forwarded to investigators.
  • At approximately 9:36 a.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 3842 in Hawkins in reference to an inquest. A male, 74, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace was notified and no autopsy was ordered.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Cheyenne in Quitman, at approximately 9:53 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the residence and it was secured.
  • At approximately 10:38 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 514 at Spur 514.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 3580 in Winnsboro, at approximately 11:47 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies met with the involved individuals and cleared the incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Whitefoot in Quitman, at approximately 3:00 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies met with the involved individuals and cleared the incident.
  • At 5:24 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 515 near the sale barn.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Higginbotham in Alba, at approximately 5:53 p.m., regarding an assault. An ambulance was dispatched for the victim who was unresponsive and could not make a statement. This report remains active until the victim is able to make a statement regarding this incident.
  • Deputies stopped to assist a motorist at 182/1630 at approximately 6:47 p.m.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2110, at approximately 10:06 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies met with the involved individuals and cleared the incident.

January 20

  • Deputies cleared a road hazard by pushing a vehicle out of the roadway, at approximately 3:43 a.m., near the Pay ‘n Save.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1559 in Alba, at approximately 5:31 a.m., in reference to a kidnapping. After speaking with those involved, deputies began a search for the suspect, but were unable to locate him. At approximately 2:22 p.m., deputies were dispatched to FM 17 in Alba in reference to a suspicious person. Deputies determined this to be the previously mentioned kidnapping suspect who was then transported to the emergency room for evaluation. Upon release from the hospital the following day, Michael Smith, 37, of Tyler, was arrested for kidnapping.
  • At 3:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 2954 in Alba regarding a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 in Quitman, at approximately 4:16 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with the involved parties and cleared the incident.
  • At 4:22 p.m., cows were reported out on County Road 3120 in Quitman.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 37 South, at approximately 5:12 p.m., regarding a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle and contacted EMS for the driver to get medical assistance.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 4930 in Quitman, at approximately 5:26 p.m., in reference to harassment. The complainants reported being repeatedly harassed by an individual known to them. Deputies issued a criminal trespass warning and cleared the incident.
  • At approximately 6:48 p.m., deputies assisted a motorist stuck in the mud.
  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 1799 in Mineola, at approximately 12:00 a.m., in reference to an unknown person knocking on their door. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate anyone or anything unusual.

January 21

  • Deputies were dispatched to FM 69, at approximately 5:44 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was ok.
  • Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Private Road 7908 in Hawkins, at approximately 7:32 a.m. Lance Fulgate, 51, of Hawkins, was arrested for outstanding warrants. May Fugate, 74, of Gun Barrel City, was arrested for Deadly Conduct.
  • At approximately 9:46 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office regarding a missing person. The reporting party stated that she believed that her son had run away and wanted to make a report. He returned home later the same day.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2632 in Mineola, at approximately 10:26 a.m., in reference to a suicidal subject. The subject was transported to the hospital, evaluated and then released to home.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1952 in Yantis, at approximately 10:40 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and secured the residence.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 2220 in Mineola, at approximately 10:57 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole playground equipment from the location.
  • At approximately 12:23 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 1581 in Alba regarding a theft. The complainant reported that someone had removed some political signs from the yard.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1388 in Quitman, at approximately 12:44 p.m., regarding an alarm. Deputies searched the area and secured the building.
  • At approximately 1:22 p.m., deputies provided a funeral escort from Mineola to New Hope Cemetery.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1785 in Yantis, at approximately 1:48 p.m., regarding a welfare check. The individual was located and EMS notified.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1306 in Quitman, at approximately 1:52 p.m., regarding an alarm. Deputies checked the area and all was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to County Road 1388 in Yantis, at approximately 2:36 p.m., regarding an alarm. Deputies checked the area and all was secure.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Highway 11E, at approximately 6:08 p.m., regarding a traffic hazard. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate anything in the roadway.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Llano Bend in Holly Lake Ranch, at approximately 6:11 p.m., in reference to a recovered stolen vehicle. Deputies contacted the reporting agency, Upshur County, who made arrangements for the vehicle to be picked up.
  • At approximately 6:46 p.m., deputies were dispatched to County Road 4896 in Winnsboro in reference to an assault. When deputies arrived, the complainant admitted that the situation was verbal only. The complainant was advised of the penalties of falsifying a report.
  • Deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:45 p.m., in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. The reporting party stated that he had left his vehicle at a location on County Road 2430 in Mineola and, when he returned, actors, or actors unknown, had removed certain items. This case is forwarded to investigators.
  • Deputies assisted a motorist on 4350 at approximately 7:52 p.m.
