2 Jailed On Warrants Following Disturbance Report

Sulphur Springs Police responded around 11:15 p.m. Feb. 9 to a disturbance on Longino Street Monday night. Two men were identified at the location. Neither lived at the address, but both were reportedly found to have outstanding warrants. Each received an escort to the county jail, according to police reports.

A 51-year-old Dike man was arrested on two warrants for not taking care of driving while license invalid charges; he owed $720 in fees on the charges, according to arrest reports. He was released from Hopkins County jail Tuesday, according to jail reports.

A 63-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on warrants for running a stop sign and open container-driver; he owed $756.60 in fees, according to arrest reports. He was booked into Hopkins County jail after midnight and released later on the charge, according to jail reports. Of the nine other times the 63-year-old has booked into Hopkins County jail since 2000, six were for public intoxication, one for driving while intoxicated, one for purchasing or furnishing alcohol to minor and one for disorderly conduct, according to jail reports.
