The Lady Cats Softball Team just could not come up with the big hit they needed in a 3-2 loss at Sherman Tuesday evening, March 10, in a non-district game.
Meanwhile, Sherman jumped out to a 3-0 lead scoring 1 unearned run in the bottom of the second and 2 more in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Cats chipped away with single runs in the top of the sixth and top of the seventh but came up one run short.
The Lady Cats outhit Sherman, 8-5. The Lady Cats left 7 runners on base. The Lady Cats also made three costly errors and Sherman had one.
Addison Caddell deserved a better fate in the circle, taking the pitching loss despite giving up no earned runs. She threw 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, with a strikeout and 2 walks.
Kate Womack was 2 for 3 with a double. Addison deSmet was 2 for 2 with a run scored and a double. Colbria Harrison was 1 for 4 with an RBI. Grace Magnuson was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Nylah Lindley was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a sacrifice. Aliyah Abron was 1 for 3 with 2 stolen bases.
Lady Cats Coach David Carrillo said the Lady Cats played well. He said they just could not get the timely hit. He said he was very proud of the way they played. Coach Carrillo added Addison Caddell pitched great.
The Lady Cats are now 8-9 for the season. Next the Lady Cats play McKinney North on the road in a non-district game Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
