A private graveside service for Duane Garrett, age 84, of Greenville, will be held and directed by Rev. Wayne Darty at Miller Grove Cemetery with Paul Garrett Jr, Colby Garrett, Derrick Petty, Landon Garrett, Heath McGraw, and Zack Collett serving as pallbearers and Preston Garrett and Payton Garrett serving as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Garrett passed away April 6, 2020 at Senior Suites & Rehab in Emory, TX.
Duane Garrett was born February 17, 1936 in Miller Grove, TX to Ray Garrett and Oma Burns. He married Joan Erlene Powell on April 19, 1958 in Miller Grove, TX and were married for 61 years. He retired and was the owner of the Jody’s Coffee Service.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Greenville, TX; Daughters, Sandra McClure and husband, Lennis, of Yantis, TX and Rhonda Lindburg and husband, David, of Point, TX; sons, Paul Garrett and wife, Bonny, of Sulphur Springs, TX, David Garrett and wife, Donna, of Greenville, TX, Michael Garrett and wife, Mary, of Commerce, TX, and Matthew Garrett and wife, Courtney, of Antlers, OK; brother, Bill Garrett, of Rockwall, TX; sister, Oma Lea Nelson, of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandchildren, Tina Fisher, Ginger Garrett, Paul Jr. Garrett, Lindsey Collette, Colby Garrett, Cassie Garrett, Sheena McGraw, Derrick Petty, Channing Garrett, Shayna Revira, Levi Garrett, Preston Garrett, Payton Garrett, Heath Bethal, Jennifer Sims, Kristin Barnard, and Shandi Garza; and 29 great grandchildren.
Duane was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Nelda Carroll and Flo Carroll and 2 brothers James Garrett and Edwin Garrett.
