Joan Alison Lumpkins passed away in Sulphur Springs, Texas on November 15, 2020. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on September 4, 1956, the daughter of Jack and Evelyn Martin.
She attended Campolindo High School in Moraga, California and Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. She worked for a number of firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, including J. C. Penney Company.
Joan moved from the Bay Area to Plano, Texas in 1990. She resided in Emory, Texas at the time of her death.
She is preceded in death by Jack and Evelyn Martin (parents) and John Lumpkins (husband). She is survived by her son, Alex Thomas and two grandchildren (Alexander Jr. and Cailyn). She is also survived by two brothers (Pat and Tom Martin).
Joan was a member of the Miracle Faith Baptist Church of Emory, Texas. She was a previous co-owner of Little Johns Plants & Produce.
A memorial service is being planned and details will be provided once arrangements are finalized.
