2 Sulphur Springs Men In Custody On Felony Warrants

Two Sulphur Springs men were in custody at Hopkins County jail on felony warrants Wednesday, March 17.

Sulphur Springs Police Department Sgt. Brandon Mayes was told he could find Chasen Lane Beaver, a wanted man, at a Kasie Lane residence. Mayes contacted him at the address and took him into custody at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, then transported him to jail, according to arrest report.

The 24-year-old Sulphur Springs man remained in Hopkins County jail Wednesday for insufficient bond on a sexual assault of a child charge, according to jail reports.

Beaver was originally taken into custody Sept. 2, 2020 on the sexual assault of a child charge, after he “admitted to having sexual intercourse and performing oral sex on” a 16-year-old female on or about July 15, 2020, at a Duckworth Street address, SSPD Det. Sgt. David Gilmore alleged in the 2020 arrest report. Beaver was released from jail Sept. 3, 2020, on a $25,000 bond, according to jail reports. He was indicted on the charge during the February 2020 Grand Jury session, according to court records.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Todd Evans and Deputy Alvin Jordan, aware of a warrant for his arrest, located William Wade Crist at 4:15 p.m. March 16, 2021, at a Shannon Road motel. They took the 37-year-old into custody and transported him to jail on two warrants for bond forfeiture on two theft of firearm charges, according to arrest reports. Crist remained in Hopkins County jail Wednesday, March 17, in lieu of the new $10,000 bond set per charge, according to jail reports.

Crist was arrested on two theft of firearm warrants for the offense on Aug. 22, 2020, then released later that day $5,000 per charge, according to jail records. The offenses, deputies wrote in the 2020 arrest report, were alleged to have occurred around 4 p.m. Aug. 21, 2020. Crist was indicted on two theft of firearm charges during the November 2020 Grand Jury session, according to court reports.
