Funeral service for Tracy Wayne Coker, age 79, of Pickton, Texas will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev Mike Haun officiating. Interment will follow at Arbala Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Coker passed away on June 12, 2021, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, in an automobile accident along with his wife, Brenda.
Tracy was born on February 1, 1942, in Arbala, Texas, to T.G. “Gaylon” and Juanita (Gammill) Coker. He married Brenda Mowat, who he loved dearly and thought the world of, on June 23, 2012, in Rockwall, Texas. He received a bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University. Tracy worked as a Petroleum Land Man, businessman and in the oil and gas field for many years. Tracy also was an English teacher for Yantis, he taught at the University of Houston, built many homes and business in Sulphur Springs and sold insurance. He volunteered with Brenda on Meal-on-Wheels and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Pickton, Texas. Tracy’s biggest passion of all, was raising his boys. He thought the world of Brenda and had the greatest love for her. In his spare time, he volunteered with the Gideon Bible distributors. He dedicated his life to ministry, no matter where his life took him.
He is survived by his beloved twin boys, Kerry and Jerry Coker; sister, Yvonne Spencer; and grandchildren, Nathan Coker, Justin Coker, Ashely Coker and Mathew Coker.
Tracy was also survived by his stepdaughter, Heather Fite and husband, Shane; stepson Dave Mowat and
wife, Cindy; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.G. Coker and Juanita Gammill Lloyd, and sister, Gay Nell
Wood.
