Funeral service for Dr. Donna Gayle Gregory Edgar, age 62, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs with Wilton McMorris officiating and Mike Eason assisting. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Terry Blount, Lee Pogue, Jerry Maynard, Rick Henderson, James Eddie Stewart, Guy Norris. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m. Dr. Donna passed away at her home on Monday, Nov.8, 2021.
Donna Gayle was born on March 23, 1959, in Sulphur Springs, to Billy Wayne and Mary Jane (Harris) Gregory. Donna was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, East Texas State University and Parker College of Chiropractic, of which she served as a local chiropractor for over 30 years. She married Charles H. Edgar in Las Vegas, NV, on Dec. 7, 1990.
Donna loved anything to do with horses, animals and going on trips. She was a member of the UPRA and other various rodeo organizations. She had a love for teaching new cowboys and cowgirls how to ride and mentoring new chiropractors. She loved watching them as they grew. She was known as” Doc,” “D.G.,” “Donna Gayle,” and most kids and now young men and women knew her as “Aunt Donna” and “Aunt.” Donna was always outgoing, knowing who she was spiritually, and steadfast in what she believed in.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; brother, Cephis Gregory and Marta; brothers-in-law, Keith Edgar of Georgia and Bob Edgar of Louisiana; in-laws, Beverly and Clyde Browning of Sulphur Springs; aunt and uncle, Thomas and Marie Gregory of Sulphur Springs; nephews and nieces, Kassie and Sam Smith, Michelle and Logan Pogue, Somer and Daniel Gregg, Jessica Merrick, Jennifer Edgar, Jacob Edgar, Joshua Edgar, Ashley Edgar, Kaili Edgar, and Kaleb Edgar; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
