Robert Eugene Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was born on June 12, 1932 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and went to be with his heavenly Father on April 1, 2022, at the age of 89.
Robert served 14 years in the Navy. While living in Mesa, AZ, for many years he retired from Quest Communications before moving to Texas. He liked anything western and especially enjoyed country-western music and dancing.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Jayne Johnson of Mesa, AZ; and his parents, Dwight and Letha Johnson,and a sister, Luara, all of Mount Ayr, Iowa.
He is survived by his six children, Virginia Friemarck of Mesa, AZ, Ronald & Janet Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Roy & Cristina Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Kathy Simpson of Chandler, AZ, Letha & Greg Prestwich of Mesa, AZ, and John & Celia Johnson of Sun City, AZ; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the National Cemetery in Mesa, AZ.
