Memorial service for Bruce Welch, age 63 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 2:00 P.M. on July 28,2022 at First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Brad Holland, Brad Fain, James Wilson (brother-in-law), Phil Moore, David Phillips, Zack Jones, Perry Woolsey and James Wilson (friend). Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Holland, John Holland, Ian Wells, Jody Pair, Chance VanWinkle, Tyler Law, Jordan Ramey, Carlos Amaya, Cody Bogard. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on July 27, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Welch passed away on July 24, 2022 at his residence.
Bruce was born on September 20, 1958 on San Antonio, TX to Earl and Mary Nell (Ratliff) Welch. He married Cindy Jones on July 19, 1986 in San Antonio, TX. Bruce earned a bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University. He later earned his master’s at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bruce was a Minister of Discipleship at First Baptist Church and a member of the Hopkins County Ministerial Alliance.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Cooper Welch and wife, Mikala; mother, Mary; sisters, Cheryl Phillips and husband, David and Lynn Wilson and husband, James; sister-in-law, Pam Woolsey and husband, Perry; brother-in-law, Zach Jones; father-in-law, Edwin Jones and mother-in-law, Patricia Jones; thirteen nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Earl.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Christian Vocation Scholarship at First Baptist Church or Northeast Texas Food Bank at 217 Linda Drive Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
