A funeral service for Maria Gutierrez, age 55, of Pickton, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Victor Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery with Alejandro Gutierrez, Osvaldo Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez, Ricardo Salazar, Eric Reyes, Alfredo Salazar serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held the night before at the family’s house. Mrs. Gutierrez passed away on November 3, 2022, at her residence.
Maria was born on January 13, 1967, in Jalpa, Zacatecas Mexico, to Francisco and Maria Aguayo. She married Jose Gutierrez on January 16, 1991, in Jalpa, Zacatecas Mexico. Maria was a stay-at-home wife and mom. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jose; daughter, Jenny Thornhill and husband, Joseph; sons, Alejandro Gutierrez and wife, Maria Medrano, Osvaldo Gutierrez and Mario Gutierres; grandchildren, Emma, Stella, Leo, Mia; Sisters, Maria Hortencia Aguayo, Maria Guadalupe Salazar, Marta Aguayo, Maria de Jesus Martinez, Consuelo Aguayo and Irma Aguayo; and mother, Dolores Aguayo.
Maria was preceded in death by her father Francisco Aguayo; sister Aurora Salazar; and brother, Antonio Aguayo.
