A funeral service for Patricia Edwards, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Willis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Mel Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home, at 876 Wildcat Way. Mrs. Edwards passed away on October 28, 2022, at Hospice of East Texas.
Patricia Ann Edwards was born on September 21,1955, to the late Oscar “Bud” Smith and Helen Ruth Smith in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She passed from this life, October 28, 2022, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
She was of the Baptist faith, joining Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She served in various areas such as Vacation Bible School, Wednesday Mission and Kitchen Committee. She decided at the age of 60 to be baptized on October 4, 2015, by Rev. Tracy Ivery in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by husband, Jimmie Edwards, sons Brandon Edwards and Stephen Edwards (Courtney) and daughters Tammy Wright (Kerry) and Simone Williams of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Grand Children, Dadrian Smith (Rebecca), Kerie Wright, Deandre’ Wright (Camryn), and Markelle Williams of Sulphur Springs, Texas; Great-Grand Children, Scarlet Smith and Stella Wright; Two Sisters, Lajuanda Doss and Mary Ann Grant both of Sulphur Springs, Texas; Four Brothers, O.L. Hawkins (Grace) and Jimmy Smith both of Sulphur Springs, Lee Grant (Kim) of Fate, Texas, and Glenn Grant (Ann) of Dallas, Texas; Sister-n-Law, Patricia Weatherall of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and a Host of nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by, Father, Oscar “Bud” Smith, Jr., and Mothers, Helen Ruth Smith and Mary Smith; Brother, Kenneth Grant; Brothers-in-Law, Billy Wayne Edwards, Sr, Willie B. Edward Jr. and Willie James Brooks; Sisters-in-Law, Cassie Edwards, Mary Jean Edwards and Maggie Finnie; Son-n-Law, David Williams; and In-Laws, Willie B. & Ora Lee Edwards.
