March 6, 2023- The National Weather Service released a statement giving details and clarifications on this past Thursdays severe weather. The National Weather Service announced that the tornado touched down in Pickton, TX and was classified as a EF-1 with winds ranging from 86 MPH to 106 MPH. Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported at least 5 homes were damaged during the storm as well as debris scattered across FM 269.
