May 8, 2023- Jill Dutton the current president of the Republican Women of Van Zandt County came to speak during Commissioners Court on Monday to discuss her running for State Rep. in 2024. Dutton came to talk with the Commissioners and learn about how they operated around Hopkins County. Dutton expressed her hopes of working with the commissioners during her run for state representative.

The Republican Women of Van Zandt County is part of the Texas Federation of Republican Women (TFRW). This club provides an avenue for women to influence policy, develop candidates, and elect the leaders of Texas. The club is a multi-generational, multicultural organization that provides the structure and support for political activists to learn, engage, and flourish in Van Zandt County.
