Main Street Theatre will be hosting auditions for their next up-coming production ‘Nunsense’.
Nunsense is a hilarious spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. Thus, the remaining nuns – ballet-loving Sister Leo, street-wise Sister Robert Anne, befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, the Mother Superior Sister Regina, and mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert – stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed. With catchy songs and irreverent comedy, Nunsense is sure to keep audiences rolling with laughter.

The picture of innocence, lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head, can’t remember her past, and so she looks at each day with a childlike joy, has a puppet alter ego named Sister Mary Annette (ventriloquism and puppet experience are a plus but not required), Vocal range: G(3)-D(6) High Soprano range, Broadway and Country style.

Main Street Theatre asks that you prepare two contrasting songs that showcase your vocal range. Song lengths- 32 bars or 1 minute selections please. For the accompaniment- it can be an mp3 or YouTube music on a phone- they will have a speaker that can connect to if needed. They may have an audition pianist available as well so, you can bring sheet music if desired.
