Memorial services for Russell “Rusty” Wayne Mannon, age 47, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Eason officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be the East Texas Cowboys, the Texas Bomber’s, Class of 1995, Ryan Ruthart, Heath Horton, and Billy Raxter. Rusty passed away on November 9, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born to Walt Mannon and Denise Leewright Agee on September 24, 1976 in Greenville, TX. Rusty grew up on a ranch and dairy farm and was excited to return to Sulphur Springs and go in the Cattle business with his dad after Adley graduated. Rusty was named All State in baseball in 1994 and 1995. Baseball was a large part of his life where he went on a full baseball scholarship to North Central College. Rusty is survived by his children, Mason Mannon, Adley Mannon, Kase Mannon and Rhett Mannon, parents, Walt Mannon and wife Cindy, Denise Leewright Agee, brother, Shane Mannon and wife Wendee, special brother, Sheldon Beard, sisters, Brandy Fisher and husband Stan, Jennifer Bratton and husband Bo, Meredith Dial and husband Asher, grandmother, Edee White, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Russell and Lou Mannon, grandfather, Durwayne Leewright and grandmother, Hazell Skeen. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
