A Celebration of Life for Bill Murphey, age 80 of Brashear, will be held at a later date. Mr. Murphey passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
Billy David Murphey was born in Corsicana, TX on October 30, 1943 to O’Neil Murphey and Mary Aljean (Lasley) Murphey. He married Danna Kay in Dallas, TX on June 3, 1960. Bill spent most of his career as a welder and
fabricator. He retired as a ranch foreman.
He is survived by his son, Billy Murphey and wife, Joyce, of Brashear; daughters, Lora Eakin and husband, Bobby, of Club Lake, Tammy Brown and husband, John, of Greenville; grandchildren, Chrystal Dickman, Shawn Erler, Melissa Honeycutt, Jeremy Eakin, Dakota Brown, and Ashlie Jeffery; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey Dale Murphey; and sister, Brenda Murphey Derrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Danna Kay Murphey.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
