Funeral services for Kenneth Maynard Ritz, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Willie Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Triston Crook, Jonathon Crook, Christian Young, Antwone Young, Danny Clayton, and Daniel Romans. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Vaughn, Lawson Crook, and nephews. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Kenneth Maynard Ritz passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Kenneth was born on August 30, 1932 to Raymond and Lora Ritz. He briefly served in the National Guard after graduating from Ionia High School in 1951. He later worked as a grocer and butcher as well as owned and co-owned several grocery stores. Kenneth married Eunice Ritz and had four children. He moved from Michigan to Texas in 1959 where he met the love of his life, Deloras. They were married on July 7, 1977 and their families became one.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deloras Ritz, his parents, Raymond and Lora Ritz, his brother, Carl Ritz, and his daughter, Rebecca Kugler.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Elaine Guthrie, his devoted children, Christopher Young, Myshoni Crook (Lawson), Robbin Vaughn (Bryan), Kenneth Ritz Jr. (Carolyn), Stuart Ritz (Karen), and Lucy Ritz, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
