Laura Ann Petty Mays

Laura Ann (Petty) Mays, of Saltillo, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 79.

A visitation will be held at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, Wednesday February 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 3:oo pm at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Dan Hoke officiating. Pallbearers are Granger Wallace, Rusty Mays, Connor Biskamp, Nicholas Naimolski, Ryder Mays, and Brett Biskamp.

Ann was born April 20, 1944, in Franklin County to Thomas Turner and Eloise (Barker) Petty.

Ann taught school for 34 years and was a member of the Retired Teacher Association, University of North Texas Alumni and First United Methodist Church.

She married the love of her life, Gerald D. Mays in 1962 building 61 years of memories, he survives; as well as their son, Jason and wife, Laci Mays; daughter, Laura Mays Naimolski; grandchildren, Connor Biskamp, Madeline Biskamp-Llamas, Ryder Mays, Megan Mays-Buck, Nicholas Naimolski, Katie Naimolski, Marcella and Edward , 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Sue and Jeff Pettay; sister in law, Jimmye Mays Garner; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Turner and Eloise Petty; and her daughter, Leslie Mays Biskamp.
