A funeral service for James Don Sells, age 60, of Mesquite, TX will be held at the Tapp Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 3rd, 2024, at 1 p.m., with David Holt officiating. A visitation will be held before, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The burial will follow at Seymore Cemetery with Pallbearers; Michael Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins, Brandon Sells, Ryan Palmer, Randy Tonubbee, Tyson Pate, and Honorary Pallbearers, Damon Amendson and Jamie Don Taylor. James passed away peacefully at his sister’s home at 3 a.m. on Sunday February 25th 2024 in Bagwell, TX.
James was born in Dallas, TX on September 30th, 1963, to James Troy Sells and Melba Ruth Tonubbee Sells. He was self employed as a master carpenter and worked for the government on four top security jobs. James was of the Baptist faith.
James is survived his daughter, Kenzie Marie Sells; sister, Linda Stovall, her Spouse Johnny; brother, Danny Palmer; nephews, Michael Jenkins (Tiffany), Ryan Palmer (Sebrina); niece, Jennifer Curry, and many more beloved great nieces, nephews and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his Father James Troy Sells; mother Melba Sells and nephew Kristopher Jenkins.
