Donny Von Attaway, 80, of Como passed away peacefully at his home Friday, May 3, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Black Oak Baptist Church in Como.
Donny was born on Aug. 6, 1943, to Truman Travis Attaway and Della Bowden in Sulphur Springs. He married Anita Tacker on Sept. 18, 1964. He worked as an oil field pumper for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps., serving from 1964-1970. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church.
Donny is survived by his wife, Anita Tacker Attaway of Como; three sons, Bryan Attaway and wife Valerie of Claremont, CA, Zachary Attaway and wife Nancy of Como, and Jeffrey Attaway of Como; one daughter, Tammy Attaway and partner, Tammy Harris, of Whitesboro; one brother, Allen Attaway and wife Shirley of Abernathy; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donny is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Drew Attaway; two brothers, Charles Attaway and Benny Attaway; and one sister, Brenda Krodel.
