Harold Gene Martin

Harold Gene Martin, of Greenville, Texas passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, in McKinney, Texas at the age of 96.

Harold was born on July 4, 1927, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas to William Arthur and Veda Rae (Stone) Martin. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a radio telegrapher serving on transport ships. After the Navy, he served as a cook in the Merchant Marines. He later retired from working for the Cotton Belt Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Anne Martin and his wife of 22 years, Amelia Martin; grandson, Christopher Gentry; brothers, William Martin, Edward (Cedric) Martin, Nolan Martin; and sisters, Allyne Martin and Nellyne Martin; and son-in-law, Nick Stevens.

Survivors include his daughters and spouses, Debbie (Rick) Gentry and Lisa Stevens, Vanessa (Jayne) Brown; a son, Thomas (Brenda) Brown; grandchildren, Carmen (Michael) Key, Donnie (Traci) Walding, Riane (Jamie) Long, Caleb Pecola, and Courtney Pecola; great grandchildren, Colton Gentry, Kristen Gentry, Kaden Key, Harvey Walding, Oden Walding, Gunner Walding, Gus Walding, Caylee Conley, Cace Conley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Roy Conatser and Lee Loyd officiating. Interment will be at the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Jumper, Patrick Jumper, Luke Calcatera, Brian Martin, Larry Calcatera, Danny Christenberry and Honorary Pallbearers will be Caleb Robertson, Roland Martin, and Eric Robertson..
