Funeral Service for Sherrie Chapman Stair, 68, of Sulphur Springs, Tx will be conducted Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Tira United Methodist Church with Rev. Pete McNabb officiating. Luke Durbin, Ford Durbin, Kyle Keeland, Charles Kaufman, Damon McAuliffe and Mark Chapman will be serving as pallbearers. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Sherrie passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, June 2, 2024 in Dallas, TX.
Sherrie was born on March 6, 1956 to M. Lynn and Mary Jane Chapman in San Antonio, Tx. She was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School where she was a member of the Blue Blazers. She graduated from The College of the Incarnate Word in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Sherrie was an equestrian and loved her pets. She was an excellent cook and took pleasure in cooking for her friends and family. Sherrie was very artistic and had a flare for decorating and enjoyed entertaining at her home in San Antonio where she lived for 36 years. Sherrie adored spending time with her family as well as her church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra Jane Chapman and her partner Charles Allen Kaufmann of San Antonio, TX, one brother, John Mark Chapman of Sulphur Springs, TX and one granddaughter, Olivia Wynelle Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, M. Lynn and Mary Jane Chapman.
